Weight loss injections 2025 have honestly taken over my life and my fridge drawer. I’m sitting here in my messy apartment outside Atlanta, January 2026, empty coffee mug with a ring stain, air still smelling faintly like the McDonald’s I swore I wouldn’t eat last night… and I’m about to rank the top 10 weight loss injections everybody keeps talking about.

I’ve personally been on three of them. Yes, three. Don’t @ me.

1. Tirzepatide (Mounjaro / Zepbound)

This is still — for most people right now — the king of weight loss injections 2025.

I lost 41 pounds in ten months on it and then plateaued like someone hit the emergency brake. The constipation was biblical. I once spent $87 on laxatives and fiber in one Walgreens trip. True story.

2. Semaglutide (Wegovy / Ozempic)

The OG. The one your aunt won’t shut up about.

I was on brand Ozempic for six months before insurance said “lol no more.” Dropped 28 lbs but the nausea was so bad I could smell chicken frying three blocks away and wanted to die. Still, very effective weight loss shot.

3. Retatrutide (phase 3 — the scary impressive one)

Triple agonist. GLP-1 + GIP + glucagon.

People in trials are losing 24% body weight. Twenty-four percent. I’m low-key terrified and also obsessed. Not available yet unless you’re in a study or extremely sketchy compounding pharmacy (which I do NOT recommend… yet I’ve thought about it at 2 a.m.).

4. CagriSema (semaglutide + cagrilintide combo)

Amgen basically said “hold my beer” and combined semaglutide with an amylin analog.

Phase 2 data showed better weight loss than tirzepatide at the same time point. I’m salivating. Still waiting though — probably late 2026 or 2027 realistically.

5. Survodutide

Another triple agonist (GLP-1/glucagon + something else? Wait no—GLP-1 + glucagon dual).

Boehringer/Ingelheim. Insane liver fat reduction. People with MASLD/MASH are losing crazy amounts. I don’t have fatty liver (I think…) but I still want it.

6. Liraglutide (Saxenda)

The daily shot nobody talks about anymore.

I did it for three months in 2022. Injected every morning like I was training for the tiny-needle Olympics. Only lost 11 lbs. Felt like a failure. It’s still FDA-approved though.

7. Compounded Semaglutide / Tirzepatide

The Wild West version.

I’ve used compounded tirzepatide from a telemedicine place when Zepbound was $1,100/month. Cost me $380 every 28 days. Worked exactly the same… until the FDA cracked down harder in late 2025 and now it’s way dicier.

Be careful. Seriously.

8. MariTide (maridebart cafraglutide)

Pfizer’s once-monthly monster.

Early data looks bonkers — similar or better than weekly tirzepatide but only once a month. Imagine stabbing yourself just twelve times a year. I’m in.

Still in phase 2/3 though.

9. Orforglipron (oral GLP-1 — not an injection but people keep asking)

Okay it’s a pill, not a weight loss injection, but everyone groups it in the conversation so whatever.

I tried the trial version through a friend who’s a research coordinator (don’t hate me). Nausea still brutal. Weight loss very solid.

10. Setmelanotide (Imcivree)

Only for people with specific rare genetic obesity disorders.

I don’t qualify. Most people don’t. But it’s technically a weight loss injection and it’s extremely effective… for like 0.01% of the population.

So it makes the list because lists are arbitrary and I’m tired.

So yeah… that’s my messy, slightly embarrassing ranking of weight loss injections 2025 (and early 2026 reality).

If you’re thinking about starting one:

  • Start low, go slow
  • Keep Zofran / electrolyte drinks on deck
  • Track literally everything because your memory will gaslight you
  • And maybe don’t eat Chick-fil-A sauce by the packet while on semaglutide (I learned that the hard way)

What’s your experience been? Which one are you eyeing next? Drop it below — I’m nosy and also procrastinating laundry.

Talk soon, me, still 37 lbs down but constantly scared of regain
